Current Scams

Fraudulent Calls: We are actively investigating reports of fraudulent calls being placed to Bethpage members asking for personal information. Information includes account numbers, PIN numbers, credit and debit card information.

Bethpage Federal Credit Union staff will not ask for any members Debit card or PIN numbers. Your PIN number should never be shared with anyone. It should be kept secure at all times.

If you happen to give your debit card number and its respective PIN number to an unknown caller, please contact our Phone Center at 1-800-628-7070 or visit our closest branch to request a new debit card and have them stop your card.

Street Recruiting: Recently, people have approached members asking for their online banking information to gain access to their bank accounts. Once the information is given, fraudulent check deposits are made into the accounts via a mobile or ATM transaction and whatever funds are immediately available are withdrawn by the fraudsters. The checks from the fraudsters come back as counterfeit, fictitious or from a closed account and the member is then held responsible for the loss, resulting in a negative balance/overdrawn account for the member.

Bethpage Check Cashing Policy: Even after you have withdrawn the funds, you are still responsible for checks you deposit that are returned to us unpaid and for any other problems involving your deposit.

Please be aware that you should never share your online banking username and password with anyone.
