What do I need to open an account?
You will need to provide your Northwell ID. Then, to complete an application, you'll need a photo ID such as a driver's license, state identification card or passport. You will also need your Social Security Number and a mobile device.

Northwell Savings+ Program

Beginning May 1, 2024, Northwell, in collaboration with Bethpage Federal Credit Union (Bethpage), created an emergency savings account called Northwell Savings+ Account. The purpose of this new benefit is to help team members save for unexpected emergencies by establishing an emergency savings account.

Eligible team members who establish a Northwell Savings+ Account with Bethpage will receive a 10% match from Northwell on the first $500 contributed annually to the Northwell Savings+ Account through direct deposit from their Northwell Health paycheck, up to a maximum match of $50 annually.

Eligible team members are those in benefit group 3, scheduled to work 18.75 or more per week as well as collectively bargained team members who participate in Northwell Health’s non-union benefits (excludes UFT and 1199). Eligible team members must also be in active service and have a Northwell Savings+ Account open/active as of December 31 to receive the Northwell 10% match for that calendar year.

For team members who are eligible for the Northwell Savings+ Program, Northwell’s contribution will be deposited by no later than January 31 of the following year. The Northwell Savings+ Account must remain open to receive the contribution. Northwell’s contribution will be reported on the team members’ W-2.

All Northwell active team members are eligible to open a Northwell Savings+ Account, however only team members in benefit group 3, scheduled to work 18.75 or more per week as well as collectively bargained team members who participate in Northwell Health’s non-union benefits (excludes UFT and 1199)are eligible to receive the Northwell Savings+ Program annual employer contribution.

You will need your driver’s license, Social Security Number and employee ID.

The Northwell Savings+ Account is a product that was specifically created for the Northwell Savings+ Program, and is eligible for 10% match from Northwell, provided all other criteria are met. Your existing Bethpage Savings Account is the account that establishes membership with Bethpage, separate and apart from the Northwell Savings+ Program, and is not eligible for Northwell contributions. If you stop working for Northwell, the Northwell Savings+ Account will automatically convert to a Savings Account within thirty (30) days of notice of your separation from service.

Applicable dividends earned on the Northwell Savings+ Account will be reported by Bethpage on IRS Form 1099-INT and sent to your home address. Northwell’s contribution as part of the Northwell Savings+ Program will be reported on your Northwell W-2. We recommend speaking with your tax professional for additional guidance.

You must be an ACTIVE (includes death, disability or retirement), ELIGIBLE TEAM MEMBER AND HAVE AN OPEN ACCOUNT ON DECEMBER 31 to receive the Northwell match for that calendar year. The match will be deposited into the Northwell Savings+ Account by January 31 of the following year. Northwell’s match contribution will be reported on your W-2. The above is intended only as a summary of the Northwell Savings+ Program offered by Northwell Health as of May 2024. Northwell Health reserves the right to add or terminate the Northwell Savings+ Program at its sole discretion.
