Thank you for your interest in our scholarship program, offered in partnership with the New York Credit Union Association.

We would like to congratulate all of the 2021 Scholarship recipients and all of the students who applied for this opportunity as well. Our website will be updated to reflect the 2022 Scholarship Program requirements and guidelines in October when the New York Credit Union Association releases their selection criteria. The 2022 Scholarship Program application period opens in late October 2021 and closes in early January 2022.

Step 1: Carefully review the eligibility requirements and online application process for the 2021 College Scholarship Program.

Step 2: The applicant must obtain a verification code to ensure that they are a Bethpage Federal Credit Union member in good standing. This verification code can be requested by submitting the applicant’s full name and phone number used for membership to kruiz@bethpagefcu.com.

Step 3: The application must be submitted with:

  • a high school transcript documenting student’s GPA for grades 9–11
  • an SAT/PSAT/ACT transcript (obtained through the high school guidance office);
    *If a student has not been able to take either the SAT, PSAT or ACT due to COVID-19 restrictions, they should still submit their application.
  • an essay response.

Step 4: The applicant and his/her parent or guardian must sign the Certification and Release Authorization on the last page of the application form.

Step 5: The application, transcripts and essay must be submitted to the New York Credit Union Association by the January 8, 2021 deadline. If any portion is incomplete or missing, the application will not be considered.

Step 6: Scholarship Winners will be announced in May 2021 – all applicants will be receiving an email in May with the names of the ten selected scholarship recipients for the 2021 College Scholarship Program. The minimum scholarship prize per student is $1,000. Bethpage Federal Credit Union scholarship winner awards are sent directly to the recipients’ colleges and those who receive an award distinction from the NYCUA receive their funds directly from the association.
