How to Apply
Step 1: Carefully review the eligibility requirements and online application process for the 2022 College Scholarship Program.
The applicant must obtain a verification code to ensure that they are a Bethpage Federal Credit Union member in good standing. The applying student must have a Bethpage account with their name on it, not a family member. This verification code can be requested by submitting the applicant’s full name and phone number used for membership to email@example.com.
The application must be submitted with:
- a high school transcript documenting student’s GPA for grades 9–11
- an SAT/PSAT/ACT transcript (obtained through the high school guidance office);
*If a student has not been able to take either the SAT, PSAT or ACT due to COVID-19 restrictions, they should still submit their application.
- an essay response.
Step 4: The applicant and his/her parent or guardian must sign the Certification and Release Authorization on the last page of the application form.
Step 5: The application, transcripts and essay must be submitted to the New York Credit Union Association by the January 7, 2022 deadline. If any portion is incomplete or missing, the application will not be considered. Additionally, late applications will not be accepted.
Step 6: Scholarship Winners will be announced by June 2022 – all applicants will be receiving an email in June with the names of the ten selected scholarship recipients for the 2022 College Scholarship Program. The minimum scholarship prize per student is $1,000. Bethpage Federal Credit Union scholarship winner awards are sent directly to the recipients’ colleges and those who receive an award distinction from the NYCUA receive their funds directly from the association.
