Get engaged with your Credit Union.

MAP LogoThe goal of MAP is to inform and educate credit union members on the value of the credit union difference, strengthen the bond of membership and activate members on behalf of their credit union.

Bethpage is a not-for-profit financial cooperative owned by members like you. Because we are not-for-profit and owned by our members, credit unions are tax exempt. We don't answer to Wall Street investors or worry about generating returns for stockholders. Credit unions are invested in local communities and local businesses – not in the stock market. Our only concern is providing high-quality services and products to our members at the most affordable rates possible. That's why we return any gains to you through lower interest rates on loans and higher rates on savings.

To keep Bethpage and all credit unions strong, we have to ensure credit unions stay top-of-mind for lawmakers in Washington, D.C.. To match them, we must all step up and tell Congress the credit union story, that credit unions are a consumer's safest and best option in financial services, and the strongest advocate for the middle class.

While we have been advocating on behalf of our members for years, nothing is more powerful to elected officials than when they hear from their constituents. Your voice, as a credit union member, is more effective than any bank lobbyist, period. Because of this, Bethpage has decided to participate in a credit union/member education program called MAP. Throughout the year, our members will be receiving updates and opportunities to share their views about credit unions. Our primary goal is to make you aware and if you like you can advocate too.
