Depositing a check is simple and can be done:

  • At a Bethpage Federal Credit Union ATM
  • At your local Bethpage Federal Credit Union branch
  • Using the Check Deposit feature through the Bethpage mobile app or online banking
  • At a shared branch
What is a shared branch location and how do I find one?

A Shared Service branch is a Bethpage or other credit union branch that participates in a network that allows members to walk into a credit union location that displays the CO-OP logo. At these designated locations you will be able to deposit or cash checks, make a withdrawal or make a loan payment.

Shared Branches give members thousands of convenient locations to perform basic transactions. Whether you are at work, home, or your favorite travel destination, you will have the ability to get the service you need.

To find your nearest shared branch location, use our branch locator.

What can I do at a shared branch?

Anywhere you see the CU Service Center Logo you can conduct a range of transactions, such as:

  • Make deposits, withdrawals and transfers.
  • Obtain account histories.
  • Cash checks.
  • Make loan payments.
  • Buy travelers checks and money orders.
  • Use the ATM's surcharge free.
Are there any fees when I use non-Bethpage ATM's nationwide?

To avoid ATM fees, look for the CO-OP logo. With over 30,000 ATMs nationwide, these are free for Bethpage members to use regardless of the institutional name on the ATM.

Shared Locations

You can also use ATMs outside the Bethpage/Co-Op network. If you do, the owner of the ATM may charge you a fee at the time of transaction, but we won't.

How can I earn interest on my checking account?

We want you to make the most out of your Free Checking account.

To earn interest, each month, you'll need to:

  • Receive a Direct Deposit into your Bethpage checking account
  • Use your Bethpage Debit Card for 10 purchases
  • Reduce your clutter by signing up for eStatements
Are my accounts insured?

Yes, all Bethpage Federal Credit Union deposit accounts are insured up to $250,000 through the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA).

What is the difference between NCUA and FDIC insurance?

The National Credit Union Administration is the independent federal agency created by the United States Congress to regulate, charter, and supervise federal credit unions.

The NCUA operates the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF) to protect accounts at federally insured credit unions (like Bethpage) for up to $250,000. The NCUA's share insurance coverage is similar to the deposit insurance coverage offered by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), which insures bank deposits.
